Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston), the national director of Mary Kay, and Freddie Wright
who was a pharmaceutical executive. She grew up in San Diego, California. She
started her career at the age of 14 when she began modeling. She has worked in
Paris, Japan and Paris. After high school, she made the choice to become an
actor. She was chosen to be a part of the soap-opera Santa Barbara (1984), in
which she was nominated three more times for Daytime Emmys. She was in love
with Dane Witherspoon during the first season. They were married in the year
1986. She starred in the show as the princess bride (1987) in the role of the
title. She was given the role of Santa Barbara but left to be a part of Denial
(1990) together with Jason Patric. She met Sean Penn in 1990 while she was in
State of Grace (1990). They had one daughter Dylan Frances with him and a son
called Hopper Jack. Robin returned to Hollywood after a long absence with one
of her most memorable parts: Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was stunning and
brilliant. She was in Toys (1992) which was a comedy with Robin Williams. It
was a very funny performance. Wright appeared in 1994's blockbuster sensation
Forrest Gump (1994) with Tom Hanks. For her performance as Jenny she was
awarded nominated for a Golden Globe Award. She was given a minor role in The
Crossing Guard (1995) in which she starred Jack Nicholson. After refusing 14
roles, she was offered the title role in MGM/UA’s Moll Flanders (1996). It was
directed and written by Pen Densham and featured Morgan Freeman, Stockard
Channing, and Morgan Freeman. She then starred alongside William Hurt in Erin
Dignam’s Loved (1997).
