Milena Govich
Milena Govich is an actress director,
musician, and actor. She has directed many episodes of TV such as Chicago Med
(2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). Additionally, she was the Co-EP/Producing
director of Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently a part of two
pilots that are in development. Milena was among eight filmmakers chosen by
AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, as well as the only Sony
Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. The short film she made and the
TV series proof-of-concept called Unspeakable with Laura Vandervoort and Jeff
Kober The film featured its World premiere at SXSW and was awarded the Best
Episodic Award at Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at SoHo
International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017 written by Milena
Vandervoort) was screened across the United States. It won the award for Best
Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta
ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given out at Sedona
International Film Festival. Milena was an actor on more than 100 TV shows. She
first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the
prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis
Leary/FX). She was also featured in the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006) and
was the catalyst for her being the first and the only female detective on the
Emmy-winning series Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The Defenders
(2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori Stevens in the
MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have been a part of her, or have recurred.
Milena is also a part of various films, including Sordid Things (2009); A Novel
Romance (2011) in which she starred opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light
(2015) and #Lucky Number (2015), starring opposite Method Man; and the movies
Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020), and The Cleaner (2021). Milena is from
Norman, Oklahoma native. After being valedictorian of her high school She went
on to earn an undergraduate degree in both vocal performance and premed with
minors in dance and violin at the University of Central Oklahoma. Then, she
used her classical ballet training to take part on Broadway in the Sam
Mendes/Rob Marshall production "Cabaret" in Studio 54.
