Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef-turned-tv personality, and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network Series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook she demonstrates easy-to-master techniques, as well as her famous blonde spiky locks. Chef Burrell has worked in top New York restaurants and studied Italian food traditions and environment. She also competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for food and cooking at an early age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with A Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication at Canisius College Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute during my time at The Culinary Institute of America she states. It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a 1 Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian culture and cuisine while in Italy, which has influenced the way she cooks. Burrell was part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of children facing obstacles. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador where she advocates for education about children with diabetes. As a guest speaker and instructor, she travels across the U.S. to share the joy of cooking as well as her professional career. Anne said she felt lucky in that she could share her true passion with many others.
