Markie Post
Markie Post grew up in Walnut Creek,
California and started her career on films and TV shows, including Card Sharks
(1978) and "The New Card Sharks" (1986) and then went on to produce
such projects as Double Dare (1976) and has made appearances on such TV shows
like 1st to Die (2003), E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman
(2000). Perhaps her biggest TV role was as "Christine Sullivan" on
Night Court (1984). From 1984 to 1992, she was in 156 episodes. Marylee
(Armstrong) Post was her mother. She was an accomplished poet and nuclear
scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14, 1918-April 7, 2015). Alongside her
second husband Michael A. Ross, she had two children: Katie Ross (born June 26
in 1986) and Daisy Ross (30 March 1990). Born in Palo Alto, California, and
grew up in Walnut Creek, California. As cheerleader, she attended Las Lomas
High school in Walnut Creek. Lewis & Clark College in Portland Oregon
awarded her a Bachelor of Arts degree. She performed trick roping in The
Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). She was cremated , and her ashes were
returned to Michael A. Ross. She was a lifelong Democrat. Markie Post passed
away on August 7, 2021, three months before what would be her 71st birthday,
which was on November 4. She passed away 27 days following Charles Robinson,
her Night Court (1984) co-star, who died on July 11 2021. While the two shows
were not related, Night Court (1984) concluded with Christine Sullivan's
character departing for Washington DC. Hearts Afire (1992) was the first show
to introduce Post as Georgie Lahti. Post was a new character in Hearts Afire
(1992), after which she relocated into a smaller town after working in
Washington DC.
